I responded to a blog from Liberal Oasis by Bill Scher. The Importance of Pakistan deals with foreign policy, Pakistan and terrorism. Scher refers to his book Wait! Don't Move to Canada about foreign policy and how Bush issues foreign policy through "promoting democracy". What I enjoyed most from this blog was that I learn what reapolitik was. If you look at Wikipedia and the read the definition of realpolitik you will find that it "refers to politics or diplomacy based primarily on practical considerations, rather than ideological notions. The term realpolitik is often used pejoratively to imply politics that are coercive, amoral or Machiavellian." Bush doesn't promote democracy at all, it's all a game to him and his fellow conservatives. They're false about upgrading democracy. It's only about the connections they have with people like Pakistan with "natural resources".
